- RYA Interactive VHF/SRC Radio Course
A course for anyone who owns a fixed or hand-held marine VHF radio. A radio is an important piece of safety equipment on board and it is vital to understand the correct procedures. A Radio licence is also required before completing any RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Coastal and Yachtmaster Offshore Examinations and to gain commercial endorsement.
The course can be taken online through our Interactive site. The course offers a flexible approach enabling you to learn where and when it suits you. There are seven modules, after which a number of practical scenarios become available for you to gain further experience in a variety of situations.
The training modules can be completed online or offline after your first log in.
After completing all the modules you can access the Pre-exam Knowledge Check. Once this is completed you can then take your final exam here with us.
The syllabus includes basic VHF/SRC operation, the correct frequencies, use of DSC (Digital Selective Calling) and GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress & Safety System), distress, emergency and medical assistance procedures.
How to enrol:
Enrolling is easy contact us to let us know you wish to take the course. Pay the course fee securely online or contact us for payment options. We will then register you on the RYA Interactive site and email you with your log in details.
When you access the RYA Interactive site for the first time you will be asked to complete a simple form before you can start your course.
Upon successful completion of the final assessment, you will be able to print out your certificate.

The online SRC course and taster have the following minimum technical requirements:
