This is a course for aspiring skippers who have some yachting experience, navigation to Day Skipper theory standard, and sailing skills. The Day Skipper practical course is designed for you to experience taking charge safely and confidently, taking credit when it all goes well and being responsible when it doesn't. Learn to skipper a short passage with the instructor on hand to give advice and encouragement and ensure your safety.
With particular emphasis on boat handling, during the course, you will practise manoeuvres and mooring in various situations. You live aboard for the duration of the course and will visit many different harbours and anchorages to practise your new techniques. You will complete at least 4 night hours sailing to experience night pilotage.
By the end of the course, you will be able to skipper a small yacht in familiar waters by day.
